How could you do this?!?! You left us hanging! Without giving too much away I would have to say I was taken from the first chapter! Each chapter was more engaging. The imagery was vivid and the reader could visualize clearly what the author was describing! I quickly became entwined with the drama going on in Madison's life and the twists that arrived with each turn!! I am so looking forward to the next book... assuming there is one... and following Madison and Hunter as they move forward.!Tags : A Heart's Salvation [Dana Christy] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. This book falls into a very particular niche that I happen to personally enjoy very much strong-willed stubborn survivor encounters opportunity to rebuild life and re-establish trust, then proceeds to stomp thoroughly on said opportunity at length while reader yells and pulls hair out in frustration.
ANYWAYS, the book starts us off right in the middle of the action as Madison is woken from her sleep, having set up an elaborate alarm system to give her the early advantage if someone were to break in. We quickly realize that her paranoia is well-founded, because Michael, a creep with a badge, is looking for Madison for some reason, and it becomes apparent pretty early on that he’s probably a d-bag.
Cut to Madison’s return home, limited on time and options after her last narrow escape. Madison happens across Jackson (Jax), a movie star looking to duck away in a small town for a bit, in an effort to ditch the hordes of groping, star-struck women.
I just could not stop picturing Jensen Ackles as Jax for some reason. Yes, I project Supernatural into just about anything I can. Picture Moose if you prefer. Whatever.
But yes, back to the review. This situation is not ideal for Madison—being around a celebrity is about as helpful to her as lingering inside of a bagel shop when you're trying out the Atkins diet. (Un)fortunately for her, Jax is immediately smitten by Madison, spurred on even further at her every indignation and attempt to shut him out.
If he wasn’t so sweet about it, it could have come across as creepy, but Jax remained persistent without crossing any boundaries, backing off when he sensed he was making Madison uncomfortable. It was interesting to think about what it must be like for someone in his position, meeting someone so wrapped up in their own need for privacy that they don’t have time to fawn over a famous person.
Jax also has a bodyguard, John, whose character development I personally loved. He’s cautious about his friend getting involved with someone who clearly has a lot of secrets, yet he warms up to her and they get a cute kind of brother/sister vibe going by the middle of the book. He even helps her work on her boxing skills.
I love that Madison struggles so much with weighing her survival and safety against the feelings she has for Jax, not to mention the conflict that it produces as a result. The author does a great job developing characters and relationships, which can be a tricky task when there are multiple players involved.
All of that being said, this book could really benefit from another round of editing for grammar and spelling. The story is so compelling and well-crafted that it didn’t bother me at all, but getting these minor errors resolved will add the big red bow on a very lovely package.
All in all, a fabulous story and definitely worth a 5 star rating!

Dana Christy's novel reminded me much of Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks, which I loved. You have a girl running from her past of abuse and ending up in the arms of the man who will save her. Let's get down to what I loved and what I didn't.
Pros -
1. I loved the storyline. Like I said above, it was a lot like Safe Haven in so many ways, and I love anything by Nicholas Sparks.
2. I feel like all the characters were well developed. You got a good mix of looks and personality. You also got a look into what made them the way they were.
3. The very first chapter got my attention hooked and the story (for the most part) kept me hooked.
4. Each chapter brought about new bits on info that kept me wanting to read.
5. The end of the novel leaves you hanging slightly. What I mean is you want to find out how things went, but it's not a big of a cliffhanger that you couldn't just imagine it on your own.
Now for the cons -
1. There were many, and I mean MANY, errors. Some were misspelled words, missing words, capital letters on words that didn't need it, added words, et cetera. Editing definitely needs to be checked.
2. I felt like the paragraphing was messed up. Especially during dialogue, there'd be paragraphs with multiple speakers, which made it a tiny challenge at times to figure out what was going on (who was saying what).
3. I didn't feel any strong connection between Madison and Jackson. The author wrote of their attraction, but I really didn't feel it as I read it.
4. After Madison and Jackson finally did sleep together, it seemed to be the main focus of the book for a while. In other words, after their first sexual encounter, it seemed like they just had one after another and the storyline paused.
5. The climax wasn't as much of one as I would have anticipated. The "problem" character didn't have as much of an oomph as I would have figured.
6. After the climax things just leveled out. And you really never know what happens to the "problem" character. There's a plan discussed, but we don't know for sure how it turned out. If there's a sequel someday, that should address the problem.
Overall, the story itself should be 4 or 5 stars. But I rated a 3 because of the many cons. Also, I really don't think the kindle book price should be $9.99. Kind of steep.
This book was fantastic!!! You will fall in love with the characters!!! Can't wait for the sequel!!!
Amazing story , well written-I couldn't put it down! I hope this story will continue. I am looking forward to reading more books from this author.
For a first time author I am very impressed with your writing skills. You go in very explicit depth and detail. Great opening in first chapter that makes you want to continue reading. I hope you continue with this series.. Great Job and looking forward to the next book!
I could not put this book down, it is so well written. I love the characters and cannot wait for the sequel. I'm hoping for a sequel. Ms. Christy you cannot leave us hanging !!!!!! Many novels today are so predictable, I did not predict Madison's dilemma and Jackson is every women's fantasy. Ms. Christy is the author to watch. I was shocked to learn this is her debut novel. Her characters are well developed the plot is not predictable and its a cliff hanger. All the elements I look for in a good read. Congrats to you Ms. Christy, I await for your next book
